Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA)

CTDPA is a law that controls the way in which companies in Connecticut handle consumer data, giving them the right to know what is going on with their data and even turning people into data controllers in a way. It is not a totally different law from others in the US, but its main feature of being consent-focused makes it different.

What is CTDPA Compliance?

To say the same thing differently, the CTDPA gives consumers the right to see the data that is collected about them, delete it, or simply opt-out of the data collection process, especially in the case of targeted advertising. The companies are required to respect these rights without delay and to use reasonable security measures to protect personal data.

Thus, the CTDPA contributes to the privacy landscape in the U.S. that it had already become a part of, by drawing attention to the need for trusting consumers and responsible businesses.
